Butterflies…Such a perfect analogy for transformation. That was how I felt as I began to uncover that authentic me. Slowly revealing beauty and strength to fly to new horizons. I also recognized the need for me to acknowledge gratitude for those who have always been there to support me, which included close friends and mentors, which if I started to name feel like I might overlook someone, so I hope you all know who you are and it is my intent to tell you every chance I get. One of the biggest changes that occurred around this time was that I left a job that was becoming toxic and finally set out to achieve one of my longest standing goals – to complete my college education. I went on to not only complete my Bachelor’s degree, but continued on to achieve my Masters in Communication. Lessons learned along the way…Realize the past no longer holds you captive, embrace the path of joy, and take a leap of faith.
It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end. ~ Ursula LeGuin
