Creativity Meditation for 2020
I thought we could all use some time to reset our creativity buttons and look forward to better times. You may want to record this so that you can play it back and be fully engaged in the meditation exercise.
Begin by sitting in a comfortable position with nothing in your lap. It can be in a chair or on a cushion on the floor or against a wall if you need that support. Just don’t lie down. Close your eyes. Begin to breathe slowly and rhythmically. Relax your head and shoulders. Feel the tension drain from your face. Breathe. Relax your chest and arms. Feel the tension melt away. Breathe. Relax your belly, hips and buttocks. Let go completely. Breathe. Relax your legs and feet, letting all the tension just drip away. Breathe.
Now imagine yourself in a beautiful, natural place…a beach, on the banks of a river, in the woods, any place that you find serene and special. Take a good look around, seeing all the details – the smells, the sounds, the wind on your skin. In the distance you see a house. Begin to walk towards it. This is the house of your dreams. When you reach the door step inside. Notice what kind of house it is. Is there a staircase to an upper floor? Are there windows where you can see the world around you? Is it lavish or simple? Does it seem like a place of possibilities?
There is a door at the end of a hallway. Open it and step inside. This is your studio to do the work of your dreams. What does it look like? Is there anyone there to work with you or is this a private space? Find the place in the room where you will work on your dreams and sit there for a minute or two and ask for direction on what your next steps will be.
Allow yourself to feel the full power of divine assistance in your dream and know that you are not alone. Also know that you can always come back to this space for guidance, inspiration, or simply to create. This is the place where you do the work of your dreams and it exists just for you.
Stay as long as you like. When you feel you have gained the insight you need for the moment, prepare to leave. Give thanks to those who share this dream work with you. Begin your walk back to the spot where you began and notice all that surrounds you.
When you are ready, gently move your hands and feet and prepare to open your eyes. As you return to the present moment you might want to make a few notes about what you learned from your meditation.

until next time…
