Flexibility

Recently a friend of mine posted some pictures of a bamboo forest in Japan and it instantly resonated with me and made me think of flexibility. Then as I thought more about bamboo it also brought forth thoughts about strength and resilience.

Bamboo is used in some places around the world for infrastructure because it has the ability to bend with trauma rather than be rigid and unyielding. A trait we can use in all our encounters in life.

Another friend, with whom I just spent some time, is finding his creativity in making bamboo flutes and understanding how bamboo yields itself to the artist whether it be a small thin reed or a large thick one, each offering its own unique sound.

Again reflecting on how each of us, in our own creative way, and with flexibility, become an instrument of the Universe, to resonate the good in our world.

“The bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists.”
