For Every Season

As I move into a new season of my life I am taking the time to reflect on all the seasons past, the lessons I have learned, and blessings I have gained. In all that is occurring in our world right now I am finding myself looking for new direction and inspiration. I started by taking time for contemplation and reading – an actual book. Stepping away from all the noise of social media and news to find what truly speaks to my heart.

My most recent inspiration came from the book, Thrive, by Arianna Huffington. There were so many things that resonated with me it’s hard to know where to begin, but what called me most at this time started with the following quote, “Everything changed the day she figured out there was exactly enough time for the important things in her life.” ~ Brian Andreas

Where you are right now is exactly the right time to choose what is important and make it happen. In this book, Arianna describes how she came to that realization and outlines some of the changes and choices she made for the important things in life. She refers to a “life audit” where you take a look at all the projects, ambitions, and goals that you have laid out for yourself and realize that the energy you are spending on them – some never to be started – are eating away at time that could be spent on those really “important” things. So by releasing them, or crossing them off your list, you realize a sense of completion that is very liberating. Let go of the expectations.

So, I will end with this quote and let you decide your next step. “Sometimes people let the same problems make them miserable for years when they could just say “so what.” That’s one of my favorite things to say.” ~ Andy Warhol

Until next time…
