Friends I Can Count On
There is evidence that having a close group of friends, that support you over time and through life’s ups and downs, actually add years to your life. I am so grateful that I have those friends, some who I’ve known a lifetime (truly since elementary school) and others who came into my life later but have a special place in my heart and have impacted my life in very positive ways. I was reminded of this as an impromptu, mini high-school reunion took place this past weekend and with a few of the people in this gathering with whom I have kept in contact over the past 44 years. There was also a reconnecting with a few that now, at a new stage in our lives, find new shared interests and connections. It just made me realize the importance of those lifelong relationships and how they bring a renewed energy to my spirit each time we meet. I invite you to stop and think about, or even make a list, of all those friends for whom you are grateful for their presence in your life and those who are truly the friends you can count on. It will add years to your life.
