Good Medicine
This year’s cold and flu season caught up with me this month and thus the absence for the past two weeks. Now that it seems to have passed I wanted to reflect on what I experienced in trying to get through it. It hit overnight and on a three day weekend so by the time I got in to see the doctor I was in pretty bad shape, coughing, body aches, chills. All the medications only made me feel more nauseous so I opted for some good old fashioned medicine – lots of sleep and chicken broth. Then once I was up to something more substantial resorted to my comfort food of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. It was discouraging not to have the least bit of energy to write for my blog but I listened to some of my own advice and took care of myself first so that I could get healthy and be back to supporting others. My advice to you today is to take care of yourselves by getting the rest and nutrition you need, see your doctor if needed, and look ahead to healthier days.
