Home for the Holidays (5)
As we start to gather with family and friends, we find ourselves sharing stories and memories of holidays, lives, and memories together. A wonderful gift idea would be to record these with video or photos and text so they can be preserved and passed on to the next generation.
Another great gift idea is to give books. While we have all gone digital, a book in your hand can still take you on a journey as well. And reading to a child is a double bonus for both the giver and receiver. So today I wanted to share a list of stories that are some of my holiday favorites and hope they make their way into your celebrations.
Lucinda’s Gift, by Tomie dePaola
The Friendly Snowflake, by M. Scott Peck
A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens
Seven Stories of Christmas Love, by Leo Buscaglia
The Miraculous Staircase, by Arthur Gordon
Finally, let me leave you today with some words to reflect on: anticipation, hope, belief, generosity, wonder, kindness, remembrance, togetherness, and last, but not least – PEACE, LOVE, AND JOY! It is my hope that perhaps these words will inspire you to share your story.
Until next time…
